Aura Color Meanings

Aura colors are lovely to look at, but not nearly as interesting without a key to aura color meanings. Passionate? Analytical? Psychic? With just a little knowledge, aura colors reveal a wealth of secrets about their owners.

Aura colors, often captured during aura photography, translate your personal energy into a vivid array of clues about yourself. These aura color meanings also offer fascinating insight into your state-of-mind at any given time.

As an aura photographer, (I use the AuraStar 2000), I've seen a full rainbow of aura colors for a wide array of people. And did you know that your auras can vary day-by-day, depending on your mood and what's going on in your life?

Aura Color Meanings Revealed

WHITE. Higher Consciousness. Often associated with the crown chakra, white in your aura indicate a strong connection to your super-consciousness and a higher power. You have an understanding of life's mysteries that transcends your physical body. However, this gift comes with a caution – often, this level of activity in the crown chakra can have your brain operating on overdrive, which can lead to stress, migraines, or trouble sleeping.

Aura Color Meanings: White & Violet Example. See the white and violet colors emitting from crown chakra and surrounding region? These aura colors suggest this person is experiencing heightened spiritual and intuitive abilities.

VIOLET OR INDIGO. Inspiration. Often associated with the brow chakra or "third eye," violet aura colors indicate strong creative and intuitive abilities. Do you tend to know and understand things without being told? Do you have natural "fortune-telling" abilities? If so, you'll probably find a lot of violet in your aura.

BLUE: Harmony, Leadership. Often associated with the throat chakra, blue in your aura indicates strong communication abilities, along with the ability to inspire harmony and leadership. If the blue in your aura is "light," you have strong religious beliefs and a humble nature. If the blue in your aura is dark or "dirty," you might need to relax more and enjoy life on the lighter side a bit more frequently.

GREEN: Giving. Often associated with the heart chakra, green aura colors indicate a generous heart, along with a strong sense of empathy and compassion. If green is your aura's dominant color, you have no trouble making friends – but might find that the friends you attract are sometimes more needy than is good for you. Make sure to take care of yourself, as well as others, lest your kind, generous nature be exploited. (Sample Aura Color Meaning: See the green aura of a caregiver who might want to give more care to herself.)

YELLOW: Analytic Ability. Often associated with the solar plexus chakra, yellow indicates a keen mind and strong analytical ability. This is evidence of high intelligence and mental strength. If the yellow is dark or "dirty," you might tend to be stubborn or set in your ways, perhaps with an ego nearly as imposing as your keen mind. If the yellow is particularly bright, your mind likely also hosts a sunny disposition that makes your keen wit all the more evident to those who associate with you.

ORANGE: Emotion and Creativity. Often associated with the spleen chakra, orange aura colors indicate that feelings and creativity are playing a key role in your thought processes. This is a sign of your ability to combine passion with analysis to produce creativity. If the orange in your aura is dark or "dirty," you might be letting your emotions impair judgment, such as when you display a jealous or distrusting streak. If orange is the dominant color in your aura, you have the soul of an artist and may be in the position to paint, compose, or sculpt the world's next great masterpiece.

RED: Passion. Often associated with the root chakra, red is the color of passion and physical energy. Red shows your active, dynamic side, along with your zest for living and a strong vitality. A powerful energy, red can be used for good, such as when attacking a project with the energy of a doer. But it can also foretell trouble. If the red in your aura is dark or "dirty," you might be angry – or someone might've made you angry recently, and you're still feeling the afterthoughts.

PINK: Love. Not associated with any chakra, pink is a sign of universal love and unselfish thoughts. Sometimes, pink is evidence of inflamed tender-hearted passions or recent romantic activities that have left you with a feeling of contentment.

Aura Color Meanings: Pink Example. Talk about pink!If this were the aura of a stranger, I'd guess they were in the mood for romance or had just experienced an especially fulfilling interlude with someone they care deeply for. Thankfully, I didn't have to guess, at least not this time around. This is how my aura photo looked after after an especially romantic date with my husband.
